What a Growth Brief Should Include for a Local Brand

A useful brief for a Hanoi consumer brand is shorter than a research report and more specific than a motivational slide. These are the sections we refuse to skip.

Every quarter we write growth briefs for owners who already know their factory floor and their cash position. What they often lack is an outside view of how the brand appears in the places customers actually buy.

We open with the questions agreed at scoping: visibility, assortment gaps, rival promotions, or early signs of out-of-stocks. If a section does not answer one of those questions, it does not belong in the brief.

Evidence comes next—dated observations, store types, and plain descriptions. We avoid charts that look impressive but cannot be tied back to a shelf or a counter conversation.

Finally, we close with decisions the brand can take this month: which SKU to push, which rival to watch, or which corridor needs a second audit wave. A brief that ends without next steps is only a diary.
